The working group meeting on September 12, 2024 – attended by 18 representatives from national and international sports federations, NGOs and initiatives – focused on various follow-up reports on major sporting events. Among other things, the course of the EuroGames, which took place for the first time in Vienna in July 2024, was discussed and its Awareness Charter was positively highlighted. The ÖFB provided a follow-up report on the UEFA European Championship 2024 in Germany. In contrast to the 2016 European Championship, there had already been cooperation with the fans a year earlier. Directly before the EURO, there were fan club meetings where, for example, it was discussed when something was discriminatory or when there would be sanctions. The ÖFB tried to bring the “wirliebenfairplay” campaign into the EURO. The Austrian Olympic Committee (ÖOC) gave a positive summary of the Olympic Games in Paris.
